Our Staff

Steve Bane

Head Pastor

Hey, I’m Pastor Steve; but when you come to church, please feel free just to call me Steve. I’m married to a beautiful lady named Lisa and we have three great kids Jared, Holly and Kelly. I grew up in the Erie region so don’t be surprised if I laugh when you complain about the snow around here in the winter.
I love this job, seriously, I love it all! I love preaching, meeting new people, making new friends, and seeing God bring wholeness to broken people as they discover who they are in Christ and the plans He has for them. It’s such a privilege to serve along side of the people of New Stanton Church. If you would like to contact me before or after you visit the church you can contact me through:

Bonnie King

Assistant Pastor

I’m the assistant pastor, Bonnie King, and I have the privilege of working alongside Pastor Steve here at New Stanton.
God has been so good to us over the years, and we’ve seen Him do great things in life of the church, and His people here. We believe He has a plan and a purpose for NSC, and we continue to seek His will, and pray that nothing will ever become more important to us than peoples souls!

Please feel free to stop in and visit us anytime, we would love to meet you!

Josie Kauffman

Director of Connectional Ministries

Hello, my name is Josie Kauffman. My husband Bob and I live in Ruffsdale and we have been married for 28 years.  Sixteen years ago, the Lord blessed us with a beautiful daughter, Elaina.
We have been attending NSC for the last 5 years. During this time, the Lord has shown me that “serving” is where He needs me the most.  I currently am serving as a school board director for the Southmoreland School District and my term will expire in December, 2013.  It is a privilege and an honor to be able to serve our fellow brothers and sisters.

Kelly Fisher

Director of Worship Arts

Hello my name is Kelly Fisher and I am the Director of Worship Arts here at NSC and I have my BS degree in Music Therapy.  I work with special needs children and adults on the autism spectrum.  I grew up in Scottdale, PA where I attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with my family.  I married my high school sweetheart Tim, who joined the Air Force shortly after I started college at Slippery Rock University.  During my last year of school, I visited Tim in England were he was stationed for his overseas duty and we eloped.  We have been married for 26 years now. After graduation, we were stationed at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey for 17 years.  Our two sons, Ryan and Wesley were both born in NJ.  After Tim retired from the AF, we moved back home to PA.  I decided to visit churches when we returned.  I came here to NSC and never went anywhere else.  I now have the opportunity to do things I never had a chance to do before.  We use dance, music, visual arts and art during our services just as they did in Biblical times.  We have many volunteers who serve along with us as we use the arts in worship to bring us closer to our Father.  Come and join us as we worship together.

Emily Hill

Director of Children’s Ministry

Hi!  I’m Emily Hill and I’m excited to join the staff at NSC as the Director of Children’s Ministry.  My husband, Matt, and I moved to Mount Pleasant a few months ago and are excitedly expecting our first child in February 2013.  We feel truly blessed to have found a church as welcoming as NSC to start this new chapter of our lives.  I hold a BSW degree and have enjoyed a career working with adults with disabilities, which has shown me God’s love in a way I could have never imagined before.  I know God is continuing to open my eyes to the many wonders around us and I am confident that’s what has led me to the Children’s Ministry team at NSC.  We have a growing ministry and would love to have your children join, if you have any questions about the services offered for children ages K-6th grade please contact me.  I look forward to becoming a member of the NSC family and following God’s path on this new journey.

Ray Keyser

Youth Director

Hi, I’m Ray. I enjoy the privilege of serving as the youth director to a great group of dedicated youth and devoted adult leaders at the New Stanton Church. We have been blessed with a lot of growth, both in numbers and in spirit! Typically we meet on Sunday evening at 6:00 but it’s not unusual to find us on a road trip to serve others or to just have some fun. I live in the Mt. Pleasant area with my lovely wife of 28 years, Sue. We have 2 teenage kids that are also in the youth group. Come and visit us!

Tricia Nicholson

Hi my name is Tricia. I am the Treasurer here at N.S.U.M.C. I enjoy working in the financial aspect of places and with people because it allows me to use one of the gifts God has given me. In addition to the Treasurer position here I also work at a local accounting firm as an accountant.

I grew up in the Western PA area and have also had the chance to live in other places such as Atlanta, Boston, and a couple other small towns. One reason I like Western PA is because the people of this area enjoy a sense of family. I think you will find that New Stanton United Methodist Church offers a sense of family whether your own is in Western PA or not. I hope you will join us during one of our services, or if you want to really get to know people, sign up for one of our small groups. That’s when you’ll really meet people, and find the sense of family.
